Massage for your Employees

On site & Corporate Services

How Employees Can Benefit From On-Site Remedial Massage Therapy?

On site massage is a relaxing massage technique specifically designed for the workplace. On site  massage is popular in the corporate sector and has been steadily growing in the recent years. The invigorating massage therapy totally de-stresses’ the body and regresses’ the mind with a minimum of fuss, and best of all, it achieves all if this while you are still at work.

How Does It Work?

On-site massage is carried out with the client fully-clothed and sitting in a specially designed chair. No oils or lotions are used during the massage therapy. The therapist uses their hands and elbows to stimulate specific pressure points on the head, neck, shoulders, arms, and back.

This sequence of massage improves the flow of energy throughout the body and stimulates the functioning of muscular, nervous and circulatory systems. It reduces muscle tension in the upper body, especially the neck and shoulder regions.

A typical massage session could last from anywhere between 10 – 30 minutes. On-site massage works in two ways first the gentle massage reduces the build-up of tension in muscles that are commonly used whilst sitting and working at a desk to the dissipation of all the attention which is accumulated in the neck, shoulders and back leaves the client feeling very relaxed. The therapist then stimulates the pressure points to improve the functioning of various organ systems of the body which has invigorating effect on the body and the mind.

Cancer and Massage Workshop

My interest in treating cancer patients all began when I was training for my massage diploma a close friend to me asked if I would go to visit his best friend that had cancer for treatment. I wanted to jump on the opportunity as I wanted to help him out as much as I could. The patient wasn’t able to lift his arms above his head for 6 months; I spent 20 minutes doing light work to his shoulders and upper neck. The next day I received a phone from him and I couldn’t believe the good feedback I was receiving and it really touched me.

As Cancer has touched me, many of my family and friends I thought it would be a really interesting to go on a course to learn more about cancer and the treatment that can be beneficial to patients. I enrolled onto the Cancer and Care workshop for Reflexology, Reiki and Massage Practitioners on the 12th September 2015. The course was an intensive one day workshop based in Harrogate, on the course it covered all different areas including: What is Cancer? Benefits of complementary therapy treatments to patients, the different stages of cancer, legality, adapting your treatment depending on the patient and many more.

Today massage is being offered to patients and carers in all areas of healthcare in Hospitals and Hospices as supportive individual care. Massage has been long accepted within conventional health care for its therapeutic effects. Massage incorporates many different styles of techniques from light stroking to deep pressure. The lightest massage touch is used with cancer patients.

Massage creates a feeling of deep relaxation which benefits emotional and psychological disorders. Throughout the massage there is a releasing of endorphins that help to uplift the spirits and reduce anxiety and depression. A massage treatment usually last up to one hour, where you will be asked to remove some clothing (you will be covered with towels for modesty) and lie on a bed. It assists in breaking the pain cycle for chronic pain by releasing muscle tightness. During the treatments you may receive a back massage, a foot and leg, hand and arm massage.

RJS Sports and Remedial massage are now offering their services voluntary to two local hospices, Douglas Macmillan and The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice to help out local carers and patients within the Staffordshire area.

Douglas Macmillan Rugby 7s Team

RJS Sports and Remedial Massage will be sponsoring Douglas Macmillan 7s rugby team throughout the summer of 2016.

Dougie Mac 7s team are a group of players that are based at local rugby clubs within the Staffordshire area.

They are looking to raise money and awareness for the local charity, they are a group of players that have recently competed and won the previous summer 7s series.

Therefore, this year they are looking to take it further whilst supporting the local charity that is so close to many of them taking part.

The team will be entering all of the Staffordshire 7s series as well as tournaments further afield, all whilst organising fundraising events to support the Dougie Mac Hospice.

As previously playing for the local rugby club I decided to offer my services to the 7s team as Dougie Mac has been a close charity to me.
